Writing and Reading
Our next topic is titled 'Carnival of the Animals'; this is a set of poems written by Jack Prelutsky accompanied by the music composed by Camille Saint-Saëns. The children can explore the poems in any way they wish whether that is performance poetry, drama, writing their own story or poem. Books that also link with our topics include, If I ran the Circus by Dr. Seuss and Handa’s Surprise by Eileen Browne.
Children should continue to read books often and be questioned to help them develop their comprehension of the text. We hope their love of reading continues!
All the books can be found on YouTube if you search for the title (Carnival of the Animals Poetry)
