Personal. Social and Health Education (PSHE) At The Avenue

PSHE is a subject which aims to strengthen the knowledge, skills and connections to help keep children healthy and safe and prepare them for later life and work. It helps children to understand the world around them, understand themselves and their bodies. Our PSHE curriculum embeds our school’s six core values of resilience, positivity, aspiration, respect, pride and responsibility.

Our aim at the Avenue is to deliver an accessible curriculum which is tailored to the needs of our children. PSHE is fundamental in enabling children to become independent, responsible, healthy and confident members of society. Our holistic teaching approach aims to not only support the development of children’s social and emotional skills, but to also provide them with tools to navigate themselves through moral, social and cultural issues that arise as they grow into adulthood.

We believe our children should be supported to develop their own opinions, have the confidence to ensure their voices are heard and the knowledge to look after their physical and mental well-being.
